David Horvitz

Born as an expansion of the experience of 7th Ave Garden–the vegetal oasis created by David Horvitz together with the landscape architecture studio Terremoto on a vacant lot in Arlington Heights, L.A.–, Make a Garden Everywhere (2025) is a neighborhood garden in which members of the community are called to actively participate, both as creators and as users. The plants found in this environment come in fact from the courtyards and terraces of the surrounding area, and each visitor is invited to add new elements to feed this ever-growing environment. Based on the concepts of accrual, responsibility and care, the project also includes a moment to record the plant species collected and the name of each donor, as the documentation of an ongoing process whose ephemeral and temporary nature is nevertheless capable of generating lasting seeds. The main idea is to create a space of hope, meeting and pleasure within the urban fabric, a landscape to nurture and take care of.
