Gina Folly

Gina Folly’s installation Your heart is a museum (2024) consists of 24 shiny metal spheres of various sizes, originally conceived as playing tools for big cats and scattered apparently at random throughout the exhibition space. As often happens in her practice, the artist appropriates objects from the world around her, revealing their hidden poetic potential. Here, the different elements as a whole recall the possibility of a movement (just stopped or about to start), and evoke the playful spirit of an exhibition that drives us to implement new dynamics of interaction with the space and the works, defining new and unstable balances. The bourgeoning of deformed reflections creates endless perspectives, irradiating light in unexpected ways, modifying angles and shapes and outlining alternative possible paths.
